Many offers quote a basic salary plus allowances. Taxable cash allowances usually increase EPF, SOCSO/EIS (up to ceilings) and PCB — so net pay does not rise ringgit-for-ringgit.

Treat allowance as cash remuneration

If the RM500 is a taxable cash allowance (e.g. transport paid without exemption), enter it as taxable allowance or add it to monthly salary in the calculator.

Statutory deductions scale with wages

EPF employee and employer amounts rise with contributory wages. SOCSO and EIS use wage bands up to their ceilings.

PCB rises with taxable income

Higher monthly remuneration increases estimated MTD. Reliefs on CP22 can reduce PCB but do not remove taxability of the allowance.

Compare basic-only vs basic+allowance

Run RM5,000 and RM5,500 scenarios to see the net difference — often less than RM500.
