Are Allowances Subject to EPF, SOCSO and PCB?

Most cash allowances paid for work are taxable and often form part of wages for EPF. SOCSO/EIS follow wage definitions up to ceilings. Some payments (e.g. certain per diems) may be treated differently — confirm with LHDN/EPF guidance.

PCB: taxable vs exempt

Taxable allowances increase PCB. Exempt or partially exempt items should not be entered as taxable cash.

SOCSO/EIS: wage bands

Contributory wages feed the contribution schedule; amounts above the ceiling are capped.
